Things to Avoid

Words and phrases to avoid

Gendered terms, such as “Hey you guys” or “man hours.”

Harmful, toxic, or questionable language, such as blacklist, swarthy, or dame.

Alienating words or phrases, especially those that apply to marginalized groups. E.g. “Driving blind.”

Sports analogies. They can be alienating, especially if used in excess.

Web3 crypto jargon. These can detract from the legitimacy of the project and lead to the wrong community vibe, as well as alienating those that do not come with a web3 understanding. Like "wen lambo" or "degens"
